Default Clipper at The Reno STOL Drags

Any of you see the Lady flying the Stock??? except for an O-290D2 Clipper competing in the STOL Drag event at Reno. She did a good job considering what she was flying against and the conditions. I listened to her interview that was interesting.
Anyway STOL Drags will be an official event next year. It is the first new event at Reno in 22 years. Good for them.

I saw the Clipper but not an interview with her. When I saw them slipping to loose speed I thought the Clipper would be perfect because it will slip way better than any Cub type airplane I have ever flown. Kevin Quinn explained the testing that went into the length of the track. He said a short track gave an advantage to the Cub type and a long to the Cessna 180 type. They are really close when the length was adjusted between the two. I was told the track at Reno was a bit shorter than what they use at Dead Cow.

    Steve,

Here you go. Her interview starts at the 5:00 Min. He also speaks with Gerome of Tac-Aero.

Kathy is a very active pilot and excellent person. I've met her several times in the back country and at fly in's. Good to see her at the STOL drag with her Clipper.

I was lucky enough to have a nice conversation with her and have a look at her airplane....we had a good time comparing differences with our similar looking but different airplanes. I didn't actually get to see her in competition though.

Seems like a very nice lady.

I have met her at several Ladies Love Tail Dragger events. Did not know that was her in the STOL Drags. I wonder how the 160 hp Clipper would do?

Well the 160 Clipper would do OK against a 108/125 Clipper, not so good against a
    Carbon Cub
They need that new fangled invention called FLAPS and a lot of it.

That would ruin a great airplane. I think the Clipper could make a good showing, just like my certified Super Cub against the Carbon Cubs in regular STOL, we are in different classes but still nice to show what an airplane at a 7th of the investment can do against a Carbon Cub and maybe this stuff will catch on and they will have enough participants to have classes.

How hard would it be to set this up at more "normal" airshows, I wonder?
