Aerobatic props are great. Too bad FAA gave Kent Tarver such a hard time with his shop, otherwise we could still get them.

I've always been curious about them and the performance differences they provide on our airplanes. I guess there is still this website, but it must not be available for short wings or not available at all...Aeromatic props are great. Too bad FAA gave Kent Tarver such a hard time with his shop, otherwise we could still get them.
Nothing new.....

I mean, I do work in business aviation marketing, so it's not like I'm blown away by any of this.
The people I know who have setup and flown Aeromatic props loved them. They are pitched low for takeoff to reach maximum rpm/horse power and then when set up properly the correct rpm and the counter weights will put the prop into high pitch for cruise. The issue with the old blades has been the lag bolts used to retain the blade in the hub corroding inside the blades. I use to know how many bolts and how long but have forgotten.
