    Alessandro,

Conversion gear for the PA-22 are all wide gear unless you do a Trimmer STC... Converting a PA-22 to Original style PA-20
gear has the front gear attach points in the same location regardless of the gear used... Narrow or Wide will bolt up to the same location.

Thank you for your precious info Brian, I think NOW I restore my PA22 as Tricycle, as original.
But due the beautiful photos on this site as taildragger with bushwheels..... sometimes I have the idea to convert it.

Anyway, my mechanic suggest me to weld the front attach as original PA20, and the tailwheel attach also, so if in the future I will decide to convert it we will not cut the new fabric, etc.

Trimmer (with pa18 gear, is it correct?) has 2 different attach, also some fuselage modifications, and I don't want change too much....

Reading the old post I understand that the most important thing is the TOE, secondary narrow or wide, of course wide is better, I suppose.
My mechanic has a lot of experience in taildraggers.

in your opinion, with the PA20 attach, which is the best gear? Pro and cons.
I have the drum brakes (we will decide what to do) with 1,5 inches diameter.

    Thank you very much.

    Alex.

Alex, if you put the Tailwheels mount on, you can’t install the tail skid used for the tri gear configuration.

We decided to disassemble completely the airframe, we checked every part of it and finally we paint it.

After that, checked every cable and pulley, some cables now are new.

    Looking great!
Probably too late now but do you have any cabin internal fabric to apply?
I did on my Vagabond and did that first before the main outer covering.

    Thank you Tony.
I bought from Airtex the headliner and the panel kit (I’m not very happy with this kit...).
