    Default 3/8 Fuel line material 5052 or 3003

    What is the best material for making new fuel lines? is there a reason to keep the original brass fittings versus new AN fittings? Thanks for any suggestions or advice .Greg

    I use 5052, 3003 is pretty soft. I also replace the brass Weatherhead fittings with AN fittings.

    Either is OK but as Steve said the 3003 is pretty soft. If you use the Weatherhead fittings, remember they have a 45 degree flare. If you go with AN fittings, they have a 37 degree flare. Make sure you use the correct flaring tool for the fittings you are using. Also remember that Piper used friction tape and shellac at all chafe points. Make sure you have something protecting the fuel lines where ever they contact something.

    Thanks Steve, that is what I was thinking, by the way while i was doing the SB819, I did the tabs for the front door and removed the piano hinge that works great! Did you do a 337 for that and if so would you happen to have a copy?
