Yes, it's part of the stc. They call out with a big hole for the old school nav light, but I'm using the Aveo Ultra Galactica LED nav/strobes. I cheated in making them as I found a chunk of streamline tubing that was the same outline as the base of the lights. I used that as a pattern for the base, then wrapped some .020" 4130 around it to make the "wall" of the mount.

After the spring break I got started on replacing the spars on the ailerons and flaps. I made a little jig to hold the ailerons so when I reassembled they'd go back together square with the proper washout.
With the leading edge skins off it's easy to rub the little dents out.
Part of the Stewart's STC is to Pop rivet a piece of aluminum over the steel tubing to square off the outer trailing edge. I have a set of flaps and ailerons that are pretty rough but have some good parts. So I took the inboard rib of the opposite aileron and used that with a piece of trailing edge. Looks a lot cleaner.20200108_080444.jpeg20200108_080455.jpeg20200108_172130.jpeg20200108_180437.jpeg20200108_185255.jpeg20200109_175400.jpeg20200111_161500.jpeg20200111_161507.jpeg

Great pictures - Wasn't sure what you meant until I looked at the sequence of pics. It doesn't just look better, it's the way the factory would have made it. Awesome work. Are you keeping track of your time to do this STC?

Not really as there was a lot of other little things involved. If I took a WAG (wild a** guess) I'd say 25 hrs. Give or take for the modifications and fabricating the the bow. Fabric side someone could give a better estimate but I'm guessing just to recover the wingtips and outer end of aileron another 20 hours.

A little scuff and squirt today. Just one coat of epoxy primer on all the wing pieces. 20200119_101757.jpeg20200119_112647.jpeg20200119_182035.jpeg

I'm lucky enough to work for a guy that's letting me use the facilities on my personal projects.

Installed the leading edge material. Halfway through I realized there was nothing for around the landing lights, which previously did not exist. Knocked a couple out and while I was going to be painting those i decided to strip and paint some other parts. I only took one shot of the tanks getting stripped as it was too messy to try to handle the phone during the process.
This all of course was done with a 1-3/8" block under the rear spar at the outer aileron rib.20200120_173811.jpeg20200120_184815.jpeg20200121_185527.jpeg20200129_181655.jpeg20200129_181710.jpeg20200201_154132.jpeg20200124_171403.jpeg20200124_174805.jpeg20200120_190125.jpeg
