Got the right wing fully covered! Only thing left is the final shrink at 350. Want to wait a day for the glue to set as it's only 48 out today.
Somehow luckily I spotted this cracked fitting in the left tank. Glad I caught that before it dribbled blue gas all over this fresh fabric job. 20200301_151959.jpeg20200301_163350.jpeg20200301_182710.jpeg20200301_145454.jpeg

Had a rib stitching party after work today and managed to knock both wings out in two hours! Including blind stitching under the tanks.
Amazing the help you can get when there's pizza and beer.IMG_20200309_195845_550.jpeg20200309_195306.jpeg

Layed out the bottom of the wings and the control surfaces for taping, as well as the inspection rings and other gussets. Realized the inspection holes at the wing root hadn't been opened and glued so took care of that, as well as installing the metal strip in the concave area of the aileron/flap area. Also got most of the taping done on the bottom of one wing. 20200314_113736.jpeg20200314_154127.jpeg20200314_160518.jpeg20200318_181845.jpeg20200319_190530.jpeg

Finished the taping by heat forming the bow tape. Hung the wings and sprayed three coats of poly brush last night. Today applied four coats of poly spray. That will get sanded Monday, then another two coats of poly spray, then I intend to mount the VG's before color. Unless someone has a good reason to do it after the color coat. I'm top coating with polytone to make future repairs easier.
Also had time to fit my new windshield. Only required a little trimming on the bottom edge either side of center and the back bottom corners.
Tomorrow I will for the new windshield trim and spray the co teol surfaces.20200325_124303.jpeg20200325_124859.jpeg20200325_125319.jpeg20200327_173659.jpeg20200327_184047.jpeg20200327_201429.jpeg20200328_160633.jpeg20200328_172943.jpeg20200328_175811.jpeg

Fit the new windshield trim today. Start in the center and shrink or stretch the top web until it fits well. Then drill the screw hole and keep working to the ends. Will take glazing putty to fill in the roughness caused by the shrinker/stretcher jaws.20200329_104554.jpeg20200329_111021.jpeg

What?!! It doesn't just bolt on? No joking, I've learned so much on this forum. Thanks to all, and Oh Jason, that is one beauty of an airplane. PLEASE let me know if it is for sale.

I paint the VGs prior to installing. Lots of over spray from getting paint on the entire VG. Making a windshield fairing is a rewarding but sometimes frustrating challenge. Looks great, congrats.

Jason, you are doing a fabulous job. I really like the windshield trim. These "little" things make all the difference. I'll be following along since I will have to do the same in the near future.
