Default Tri-Pacer to Pacer Conversion Kit

I have a Light Plane Components/Univair L2200-03A Landing gear kit with Cleveland wheels and brakes and LOPT-L4 Dual Brake conversion kit with STC that was bought but not used. Complet, still in the two boxes from Univair. I don't see me getting to this project and wish to sell both kits. $8,000 complete. Pictures here. https://photos.app.goo.gl/vVHn7QTt38a8bxjb7

Steve, how much labor is required to convert... just a rough estimate. 10h, 20h?? Thanks,
    Mark

From Brian Pankonin of Steve's Aircraft:
    Tri-Pacer to Pacer

Takes 50 hours min, 70 max. A good third or more of the time is in the repairing of the fabric all the way through color. Of course dad has done over 20 of them and
he can whack one out pretty fast. From Brian Pankonin.

You probably have had this question: is a conversion a tail dragger with bad attitude? Short coupled pacers are notorious I hear...so how does it compare to the original pacer?

The original Pacer had a lot narrower track than the later side gear and the conversions. People who are use to Cubs say a Pacer is squirrely but people who have flown Pacers and mastered them have no issue. There is a reason Cub Crafters is building a nose dragging Super Cub. The pilot skill is not what it use to be. I believe if you take the time to learn the airplane it is a non issue but I am bias, I learned to fly in a PA16 Clipper and after the first 12 hours it was never an issue for me.

Thanks Steve... I Have lots of tail dragger time (Aeronca chief, squirelly big time and others) but not recent. I'll reach out to Lou S. for a quote.

Join the conventional (gear) crowd...there is less peer pressure than being unconventional.
