Pacer turns 70
Hey all: The Pacer turns 70 years old this year and we are trying to do something special for the 70th. We are trying to organize a mass arrival at Oshkosh this year. When we say Pacer, we are talking about tail dragger short wings! Arrangements are being made, but I need to know by mid March about how many people will participate so we can prepare the staging airport and let the folks at Oshkosh know what to expect.
So you may ask why would you want to do this. Well first we will get a time slot for arrival into Oshkosh so we don't spend hours circling a lake. All planes arriving in the mass arrival will park together and hopefully closer to where everything is happening. So if you have a PA-20, PA-22/20, PA-16, and even the PA-15/17, make plans to attend and lets make this a great time for everyone.
Please let me know if you plan to attend so we can provide everyone the numbers they need. We are looking to stage in the Dells area of Wisconsin where they have both grass and paved runways.
Hope everyone will come out for this!

We will stage in Baraboo and orginize the departure and arrival into Oshkosh. We will need to provide some numbers to the VAA to make the arrangemnets, so please if possible make the commitment as soon as possible!
Cheers,
Steve

I may be interested, but I'm waiting on work schedule as I may need to actually work at the show this year. Following this thread for more info!

I'm in along with my 1950 PA20! I'm based out of RAC and a member of the local EAA Chapter if Baraboo doesn't work out.

I just got vacation for OSH, hoping to fly our 1950 PA-20 up from south FL. What dates are you planning for?

Keep me in the loop as well. I’m down at KARR (Aurora airport) outside of Chicago.

Re: Pacer turns 70
Just a quick update. I have been in contact with everyone that has anything to do with Vintage aircraft at Oshkosh and so far, everything is encouraging. If the Pacers arrive together, they will be parked together! We will need to know in advance how many airplanes to expect so the volunteers at Vintage will know how many parking spots we will need.
Still not ready for the details, but we will stage at Baraboo and they have a paved and a grass runway. They will also transportation available to us if anyone needs to get to a hotel or wants food or just to get into town. They are doing more than we could have expected and they are excited to have the Pacers arrive and depart for Oshkosh from there. Camping on the airport will also be permitted, and as always make sure you bring your tiedowns.
Just a note about Baraboo for those that don’t already know. Directly across from the airport is the Ho-Chunk Casino and Water Park. Arrive early and take advantage of the activities in the area before making the trip into Oshkosh.
See ya there,
Steve

Hey, I’ve never been to OSK, and I’d love to maybe tag along, if you wouldn’t mind having a flying milk stool...
Also, Baraboo is a traditional pre-Oshkosh gathering for the Tailwinds.
