    Default 0-320 overhaul

Got the cases of the 0-320-A1A split today, all components look great, found PN 68763 B on the little main bearings, have not found the PN on the long bearings yet. Trying to cross the 68763 B to the new PN's, work in progress.

What was the reason for the overhaul?

Got it in a Pacer project deal, last OH in the 80"S so inspection and reseal. The cases came apart really easy so the sealant was used up (leaking seams at case halves is a pain). No fretting on the case halves mating surface so thats a great thing. I'm an IA so my labor is free!

crank/Cam/lifters are great, its only got 1000 SMOH. My experiance with cam galling is if the metal is gone it will rust up quick! Run Camguard! Cylinders have wear in bores, valves/guides are good. Will work me up a good set, might just buy new cylinders.

It usually don't go well buying these projects/engines be preparred for the worse, hope for the best!

Have you thought about going high compression on the cylinders?

Best to start with a -B case for 160HP, due to longer studs for cylinder plates. Wide flange is much easier, if you don't have the cases with the 0-290 front bearing.

Called Lycoming the B suffix is a revision. Does not designate an undersize.
