Pretty wicked impact. Hope the older Instructor pulls through ok. I would be curious if the AC was equipped with shoulder restraints?

Re: shoulder restraints, I doubt it. The kid had facial injuries and I'll bet the instructor does too. It sounds like a right rudder cable failed, huh? That's weird. Don't want to speculate tho.

Interesting crash report, I hope both guys recover OK.
It has to be something, because with only 4 KTS of wind the thing should have almost landed itself,and surely an experienced instructor could have landed it if nothing was wrong with the aircraft.
