Re: Cabin heat leaks hot air
Do you know where the hot air is coming in? Does your cabin heat valve close completely? Are the holes in your firewall sealed, and is it a Tripacer and leaking around the nosewheel steering pushrods?

Re: Cabin heat leaks hot air
I check the cable rigging and if that is good I drill a piece of aluminum big enough to cover the outlet to the cabin and install it with one screw from the cabin heat box. That way I can flip it on or off come winter/summer.

Re: Cabin heat leaks hot air
Thanks, I’m going to check more closely, that the valve is closing properly. When it gets hot out side it makes it really warm inside so I tend to fly high where it’s cool. I’ve had this problem with both the short wings I’ve owned the first let heat in through the rudder pedal push rods which got your feet hot. This one seems to be coming out of the heat box.

Re: Cabin heat leaks hot air
Well, definitely not the heat valve it’s tight and works good. However I can see daylight through the steering push rods. So this is where it’s coming from. Suggestions?

Re: Cabin heat leaks hot air
Replace the seals, you will have to remove the steering rods.

All I found was a packing strip. Is that what you are talking about? 189-410
