    Default Gascolator identification

    Greetings,
Can anyone identify this model of gascolator (pic attached).
It is installed in a Vagabond with two wing tanks and is located under the passenger's seat.
It looks like the bowl screws in but the owner hasn't any info on this model.
It is currently leaking a bit so he either needs a new seal or a replacement gascolator.
    Thanks

    Tony,

That is the exact gascolator that is installed on the firewall... Just installed with a heavy ring on the bottom of the bowl and two square plates sandwiching the assembly with four bolts... And no internal screen... They are designed to leak..

My STC replacement is approved to get rid of that junk..

    Thanks Brian,

Although I used to own a Colt 45 years ago I didn't remember the gascolator style!
I thought he may have had some kind of "other" gascolator installed.
I have sent him links to your website.

Its a little difficult by yourself, if you have a helper up top helping on the reinstall it makes it easy. That takes the same gasket as the firewall gascolator, I replaced mine years ago and no leaks, I would give that drain a good checkover while you have the bowl off, if it starts dripping you will have to take the bowl off again to fix the drain. A quick job one person taking it out, but have a helper to reinstall, tighten it up and it shouldn't leak.

If you install Steve's gascolator you won't regret it.

    Thanks everyone for the tips.
I have passed on the info to the Vagabond owner, including info on Steve's replacement.

I have two of these removed from a PA-20 and a PA-22, if you need parts I have them listed on Ebay.
