Took advantage of a large high pressure system over the Northeast on Monday June 8th to fly the Pacer from Winchester, VA to the Niagara Falls. There were no other aircraft (including tour operators) in the traffic pattern at the Falls. It was a really nice trip. Here is a link to my YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmjppG21fVM . It shows how I navigated to the Falls (including ATC audio).
Here are also some pictures. One is of downtown Buffalo, NY.
Great trip and pictures! Buffalo departure used to take requests to do the "falls tour". I remember doing it in a Dash8 years ago. We were behind a Northwest DC9 doing it as well.
There was no aircraft in the pattern on Monday, no tour helicopters. Pretty sad world we live in right now. If you look closely at the pictures and video, the parking lots and roads are pretty empty.
Great pictures Juergen! I remember when I was there on the ground with my family, the sky was crowded with sightseeing flights....you were quite lucky to have the airspace to yourself.
Brings back wonderful memories. I bought my pacer in upstate New York, sight unseen and flew it back to Michigan with my instructor over Buffalo and the falls. I was a bit too nervous to really enjoy the sight, so thanks again for the good memory. Brian, pacer n999vl

Lucky in a way, but I much rather share the airspace and don't have to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. I would have liked to visit a local restaurant or take an Uber to the Falls, but I packed my lunch and stayed by the Pacer while eating it so I didn't have to go into the FBO.
enjoy your retirement Jeurgen, looks like you will do it in style...
Donn, thanks, I will fly the wings off the Pacer while piece by piece restoring it. Hope to see you guys at the next Sun & Fun. Maybe we meet up again at SSI.
