I guess I got one of the good ones, I have 1000 hours on it and it has never once dribbled after tightening and safety wire.

The problem is not normally the gasket, it’s the warped pot metal housing the gasket is supposed to fit into.

Glad you have a good one. The gascolator leaking after servicing has always been one of the most frustrating tasks for me as an A&P during inspections and maintenance. Steve's gascolator was a much needed and appreciated improvement in my opinion.

I had a original gascolater on a piper that seemed to do ok then one day several days after I had
had it apart to check the screen and bowl, put it together, flew a couple times during the week then
got a call from the hangar that the plane was leaking fuel all over the floor. They shut the fuel valve off.
Not a good situation, that will never happen with Steve's.

I always shut off my fuel valve when not in use!

Got the new 462-049 gasket in the mail yesterday, IA thought it was correct part number, annual inspection completed and test flight done, no leaks the gasket fit perfect.
