And Evan’s Tri-Pacer, whom we had joined in Corona and flew loose formation to Ocotillo. Most fun I’ve had at a couple airports in quite some time!

I wish I could have joined you. I’m planning on heading down that way sometime. I have some good friends down there. Thank you for sharing.

It was a great day of flying! So much fun playing on the long dirt strip all afternoon. We all rode in and flew each others planes. Really interesting seeing the differences first hand between the different wing tips. Ray(sierrasplitter) has stock, Evan (evanr42) has Stewarts, and I have PlaneBooster with Maule M4 (slight droop) tips.

Formation on the way down with Evan (evanr42) was new to me. Can't wait to see the awesome pics he captured, as he's a pro photographer.

It was helpful for me getting away from my home airport where I've just been beating up the pattern working on the tailwheel endorsment. Taking everything I've been learning to another place and still being able to get the plane on the ground close to the intended spot was a big confidence booster.

That looks like fun. I'll have to check it out next time I get down to SoCal. Anyone ever landed at Arrowhead?

I haven't landed many places, yet. Are you talking about the private strip north of Lake Arrowhead? It looks good on Google maps.

Yes, that looks like the one. It is a private strip. I've seen video of planes landing.
