Default Installation of SkyBeacon on Colt

Just purchased a '61 Colt. Are there any issues installing the wing tip mounted Uavionix SkyBeacon?

What do you have there now? Strobes? Have a picture by chance?

You will need to make a 1/8” spacer the shape of existing light.

What kind of spacer are you using on a Piper Shortwing or Super Cub? Picture?

My bad Gilbert, hadn't put one on a shortwing yet. It would be easier to put the skybeacon on the wing tip. Need to put one on my colt, i'll see what kind of spacer would be needed for the tailbeacon. I'm thinking a fabricated one would be lighter than a machined one?

I have the skybeacon. Works great. It took a thin spacer, not sure the thickness but could check in day or two.

I did the tailbeacon on my Tri check out my post. The spacer was not easy. Doug bear in mind that you have to add a separate power wire for the strobe (not easy) if you plan to activate it and the right wing matching light is not certified approved.

I used some scrap plexiglas for the spacer. Running the extra wire was the toughest part.
