Square super cub tailfeathers photo?
Hey all, I frequent swp on Facebook and post or comment often, but haven’t been active here at all. Trying to change that.
I wrecked my 22/20 due to the fabric over the windshield popping up therefore I am doing a full rebuild. One that that has been on my mind is the supercub tail feathers. The stc is on its way to the shop now, and a buddy has some square SC feathers I can likely purchase. My pacer will have Stewart’s tips which are obviously square also, I am curious if anyone here has a photo of what square feathers look like on our expectedly round shaped pacers?
thanks!

Re: Square super cub tailfeathers photo?
The square SC tail feathers are an STC that I believe is only applicable to the PA-18 and PA-12. I don’t think you will find an STC for their installation on a PA-22.

Hmm. I was under the impression the square was a direct replacement for the round super cub feathers. I am sure it could be FA. But I don’t know if I want to put my energy there. Not even sure it would look the part. Currently sourcing SC feathers and square is easily available is all.

For the PA-18, the square elevators is STC SA589AL. You can’t get a field approval for changes to the shape or area of a flight control surface.

Good for floats on a Super Cub. Makes you want to take your hand off the throttle to help flair in a PA12.

Re: Square super cub tailfeathers photo?
The SWP is on fb ? Who would have guessed?
wow, I hear loosening that fabric is a loosing proposition: You are not the first, I’m always surprised when I read about it seeing as the top of the fuse should get heavy thumb Pressure here and there every 100 hours or so and more depending on the amount of UV one gets. Fabric tends to last up here in AK.
Anyway, give Eddie Trimmer up in Willow a call (907) 495-5724 and talk about Pacer tail feathers. Listen. He is your one stop pacer guru.

Yep! Just spent well more than a grand with him for some stcs. For now, I’ll find some round SC feathers I suppose.

Yes, and they look better also.

Rob's page on Facebook is full of fun and exciting flying fotos.
Glad to see you here too Rob, you might want to start a thread on "Rebuilding Pinto Bean" with pics and comments.
Search Andy's restoration and others here for good details of their rebuilds.
She was a fine little bird and will be even better when you are finished.

Thanks Glen, I’ll put up some photos and such as I go along I expect. Not a ton to show yet. But carbon fiber, 18 feathers, 18 gear, float fittings, and a new panel are next up
