I have been using Exxon Elite 20W50 oil in my Cont. A65 since I got new cylinders a few years ago.
My engine man liked the oil due to the special additives.
I now find that Exxon Elite 20W50 is no longer available, so what is the next best engine oil to put into these engines?

We use PHILLIPS 66 X/C AVIATION OIL 20W50 and then add Camguard. This is simply based upon Gilbert's recommendation from other posts as he is far more knowledgeable about such than I.

I have been using Phillips 66 xc 20W50 with Camguard but recently switched to the Phillips 66 Victory 20W50 which has the Lycoming anti-chafe/wear additive in it. I probably will add Camguard as well with it's anti-corrosion properties. Here is some interesting information on oils and additives from the guy who created Camguard:
Interesting comment. I've used Shell W100 with cam guard forever on all my aircraft, but the O-200 has an issue with 'losing prime' after about 2 weeks of sitting. I've just changed it over to the Shell multigrade but have yet to trial it.
