    Default PA-16 CLipper bungee covers

Gents, our A&P suggests making new bungee covers due more patches than original material, any new ways to go around the landing gear struts ? Would like to show our A&P some examples... Cheers, Donn

    Default PA-16 CLipper bungee covers

I only have one side for my project. Have to build the other one. Not sure of any “new ways” to put covers around them.

I was thinking the covers around the control stick mechanism. Not sure there are any specific bungee covers for a PA-16.

This is what I did on my Pacer. Makes it much easier to take the covers on and off. I have the covers currently off the airplane. I can take some more detailed pictures if you need it. I basically split the inner and outer part of the covers and connect them with two screws.

Very sharp Juergen thanks, I like that overlap better than twisting the ends apart ! Cheers

I thought you meant on the inside.. are they supposed to have covers? I like being able to see them, mine don't have covers, stick assembly does not either, all open so you can see and inspect it. I do have those belly covers pictured above.

Read your post again, sounds like you do mean the ones on the bottom of the plane, mine arnt patched much but they definitaly are not new looking, lots of holes, maybe I should make new ones to LOL would look better

I think the stick assembly covers are more to keep stuff from fouling the controls than for cosmetic purposes.

I do like Juergen’s gear fairings though. I’ve seen them, very nice.

I took some more detailed pictures today when I was working on the Pacer. I used rivnuts because I was out of nutplates when I fabricated mine. Either will work.

Friends don’t let friends use rivnuts... I’m not a fan of them and have cursed the inventor of them many times over the years!

I like your covers, thanks for posting pictures.
