    I took thee field wire off of the regulator. I made a new temp wire and ran it from the reg. to the gen.. I also disconnected the original field wire from the gen., of course.
    I get it and do it myself...asking the question answers it as your typing.

    Sorry, should have answered about connecting the input and output field wire from master together. No, there be no reason for it but I am sure you answered that for yourself also.
