    Default Covering choices

Hello I was wondering what everyone's opinion is on covering processes I've done a couple sets of wings using the stitts process just wondering what your opinion of stewarts or ortex is. And also if there is anyone in Saskatchewan Canada that has used stewarts or ortex that I could talk too or maybe come take a look at you plane if you have used the last two options. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I have used Polyfiber (Stits) more than anything and am more use to it. I have used about very system except have only done a few patches and tapes with Ortex. I am a creature of habit.

Stewarts Systems has a lot of docs and videos on covering techniques etc (tho there looks to be a problem with the video page.)

A search of YouTube for Stewarts Covering will produce a lot of results.

I speak from a position of zero experience doing this sort of work, YMMV.

I'm using Ceconite and Dope. Old school and light.

I am helping cover a Mini Cab in Oratex at the moment. Very easy. So I think I will do my Colt with it as well, even though I already have Ceconite in the cupboard.

Ceconite and Polyfiber fabric come off the same roll just stamped with a different stamp.

Oratex can be translucent under certain lighting conditions. Also, unless they have changed the "finish", Oratex gives a quite glossy surface finish compared with traditional Ceconite and Butyrate finish.
For sure using Oratex will be much quicker for a recover job as you don't have to apply 12 coats of various dopes like you do with Ceconite.

I've used several systems and now only use Stewart's. Just watch and follow the videos.
