I have mine apart --engine's out for overhaul-- but are you talking about the air box that bolts to the carb, or the (usually missing, apparently) "carb air scoop box" (the new-looking piece)?

Why are you going to fabricate the airbox? I don't believe I have seen a drawing for one. There are several different versions on our Short Wings.

Both.. I bought the o-320 and pacer separately. This is going on a 1950 Pacer (tailwheel) though so I’m guessing it’s going to be slightly different with out all the nose wheel tubing there...

Please post pictures of the process for building a new one. I am lazy and just buy them.

Ditto what Steve said, that's a fairly complex piece. But you're correct, I believe: as far as I know, that "air scoop" thing was only necessary on nose-wheel versions. (Lucky me.)

I have one that could use a new carb heat flapper shaft and bushing if interested.
    PM me if if interested.

OK, here are some pics of mine, I thought I had it here at the house. Haven't yet de-greased it, so it's pretty slimy with oil.

You can see how complex it is. And BTW, it's made of steel, not aluminum.

Might be practical to call Acorn or other specialists and see what they charge for one.

    I think for a 150HP O-320 you want item D, 14253-004

I had a busted one during a cross country a few years ago. Bought a replacement from Aircraft Spruce. I as on my way a day and a half later.
