    My O-235C1B is rated at 108 HP at 2600 rpm and 115 HP at 2800 rpm, per the Lycoming manual I have. But I can only get to around 2580 rpm during full throttle. I'm thinking that Piper wanted to limit the engine to 2600 rpm on this plane, using the 48" (I think) prop. I would like to have the 115 HP, but am not sure if it is: 1) Possible 2) Legal ....any advice/thoughts?

    The 76AM-2 is only certified to 2600 RPM and 108 hp. Read your TCDS to see what static RPM limits are. Assuming you have a PA-22-108, your static limit is 2450 to 2200 rpm. HP limit is 108.

    Yes, I have a Colt with the 76AM-2 prop, I think it is 48" pitch.

    Normal pitch was 52”, the 48” pitch is a climb prop.
