Default Finally Uncowled an NX Cub

I finally got a Cub Crafters NX Cub into the shop for a thorough inspection. Having gotten to fly it at Oshkosh 2019 I know the 210 hp IO-390 is a beast but I really wanted to see that beefy nose gear. Figured folks here would like to see it as well, Tri-Pacer on steroids.

Wow! And I thought the Tri Pacer had a beefy nose gear. That is a sweet aircraft!

Sure doesnt have a whole lot of support up front as far as the upper support bar being so far back.
Do you have the steering rods removed or does it just use one on the other side?

Highly cantilevered design. Think it may be caster-wheel design with that trailing link. Steering by differential brake

Yes, trailing link design with a lock pin and panel indicator when you need to caster it backwards.

Cub Crafters had one at Johnson Creek for demo rides last weekend. It appeared to have impressive cruising speeds for a Cub.

This one cruises 147-148 mph on Bushwheels.

You can have one for as little as $380,000 to $400,000.
