    Default wheel landings

What configurtion and speeds are ball park for wheelies? Struggling a bit finding the right speed pre round out. Let's assume light winds.

    Thanks

    150 hp PA22/20 . I never drop below 65 if I’m solo , 70 with a passenger . Two notches of flaps . 12/1500 rpm

Full flaps and between 55 and 60 knots. If you carry too much speed, then their is too much energy left to bounce you back. I try to prevent the airplane from touching down. Worst case it turns into a three point landing.

Upon round out, pitch attitude level or slightly tail low considering above speeds and configurations??

You folks must have some long runways to play with. Short final I am rarely above 50 and I want ZERO float when I flare and touch down.

I generally try to make the first turn off past the threshold when landing. My final in a Pacer is 60 to 65 mph. Over the fence I'm at 50 mph with some power. If the winds are in the 20's or higher and gusty I will increase the speed. I treat long runways as if they are short. Short field skills are valuable.

Yes, I have the benefit of both paved and grass runways, and shortest I use is 2500 feet including clearway. Could I do shorter? Maybe after I've got more confidence in my chops. I do zero off airport stuff. Did when I was at Elmendorf 30 years ago in a Citabria, and a semi-bushed out Pacer (160 HP, cuff, tips, seaplane doors, 12 gallon aux tank. Shoulda kept it).

Tail low and pin the mains at touchdown, no flaps on the C-85 Vag.

    I use Vref approach speed.
