    Default Pa22 w/o290

    Hi all!

I’m new here, sold a gorgeous vans rv10 and now looking for a tri-pacer to “fly around for fun”. There’s a 54 tri pacer here (s17, trenton SC)for sale, with 1600 on original o-290d2. Looks nice, lots of new parts, but the engine…(68 compression all cylinders). Avoid, fly till it stops running (honestly prob not more that 50hrs/year), what would you suggest?Asking $26000 maybe? Owner has a spare 290(not d2) and prop with 300 hrs.

Tim, Have you read this thread? https://www.shortwingpipers.org/foru...ase-Inspection

Also Google search "O-290 site:shortwingpipers.org" for lots of discussion on the engine. Cylinders are the issue and it has a 1500 hr TBO.
