After further searching on the UL94 issue, it appears that the Lycoming additive is primarily an anti scuffing agent. SAIB 1070 AB specifying the additive when using unleaded gas implies that removing the lead makes the engine more prone to scuffing. Since CamGuard’s website includes scuffing prevention as one of its properties, I plan to continue using the Phillips XC 20W50 oil with CamGuard and maintain it’s other benefits.It would be interesting to learn if auto gas users experienced problems caused by absence of lead.
