Default Installling a TailBeaconX inside the fuselage

I am considering the new TailbeaconX. It has the transponder built in plus diversity ADSB so I can fly in Canada and the USA. Use an AV-30C to replace the AI and that controls the transponder so I can remove the Old King Transponder and save a bit of weight. uAvionix says it should be fine to mount it inside the fuselage on a fabric airplane (it looks fragile with two little antennas sticking out of it) and I would prefer that. They say that there are already some experimental running around like this and it can be done with a Field Approval. They say the tubes and silver coating shouldn't cause any interference. Seems like a good plan (that doesn't mean it IS a good plan).
I am wondering if anybody else here has done this or is considering doing it.

    I’ve not done that
    but
I know someone who installed the tailbeacon inside the fuselage of an
experimental fabric high wing tail dragger. It worked fine and no problems
reception wise. The fabric was poly fiber with all the requisite coats and
    metalic topcoat.

Also that fuselage was tube and fabric - lots of metal tubing but no problem

Done similar on restoring biplanes. Com and gps antennas in the empennage. Wasn’t involved with the paperwork so I don’t know if it was done via field approval, DER engineering, or thumbs up during the DAR inspection after the resto.
Just know what t worked well and kept the classic lines.

Watch the iTunes video on AvWeb.
    The Tailbeacon X TSO’d & PMA’d and STC’d.
$2400. If you already have the AV30C which controls the transponder.

I like the idea of the tailbeaconX in the tail where nobody sees it, just worry I’ll do it that way and there will be some interference. Be nice to free up panel space and lose weight of transponder (although removing excess weight of large pilot belly would save more). Will wait until I am back home next week to ask the somewhat friendly local Fed what hoops I have to jump through for his blessing. Meanwhile I have to dismantle the Tri Pacer so it can share the hangar.

Reading the STC for Canada it says PA 20s are acceptable but skips over PA 22. Any ideas why.?

Probably an error, suggest write to uAvionix as removing the nose gear won't change the type....
I imagine they can fix that oversight pretty easily.

Any update to the uAvionix PA22 Approved Model List TailBeaconX installation?
