    Default PA20 landing gear question

I need to replace the pair of landing gears on my PA20.
Would a pair of PA22 gear have the same geometry and fit on a PA20 once inverted (L to R and R to L ) ?

Iím asking because itís pretty hard to find a PA20 pair in good condition in Canada.

    Cheers !

I saw your ad on barnstormers. Did you need Narrow gear(50 model) or Wide gear (51,52,53)? I have 3 spares for a 50 narrow gear.

Univair also makes the wide gear 1 1/2" axle under a STC for the Pacer so you can go to modern wheels and brakes and the wide gear. https://www.univair.com/piper/piper-...ar-right-hand/

At one time, I think it was Raven aircraft or something like that would modify 22 gear to fit by splicing in two new tubes. If you are O.M. Canada, I have added pictures of his jig to do the mod.

Up in CA might look at these instead https://www.wipaire.com/aircraft_page/piper-pa-18pa-12/

Thats what I want, wheels and floats.. and an O320

oh and 22 gear wont work on 20 backwards or upside down, I think the same guy that started that rumor developed the faucets with sensors that turn the water on after you walk away but never come on when you need to the water

Wait till you get your insurance bill for amphibious floats!!!! It will make the univair gear look affordable.

If you look closer that fixture is being used for repair of -20 gear. It could also be used to "BUILD" gear, I have a set of gear from there that were likely built in that fixture. Further you could reuse some of the parts of 22 gear like axles & gear mount fittings, but it would really be basically new gear when done.

I’m looking for a wide set.
