If you're okay with replacing the housing, you ought to check out https://shortwingpiperclub.org/swpc-...oulder-lights/.
They're saying out of stock, and honestly, that's the first time I've seen them out of stock. I installed a pair of these with the red LED lights and they are truly worth it. Worth the wait until they're back in stock.

Re: where to obtain red lens for shoulder instrument light
I couldn't stomach the SWPC price for such a simple thing, so made my own out of white PVC 3/4" slip-slip unions and painted them flat black on the outside. Left them white on the inside for better reflectivity. They fit right on the original fixture. Filed a notch on each side for the little retention clips to hook into, so they don't fall off. Less than a buck for two of them. Put some cheap red LED bulbs in. I bought a couple different types of bulbs and wattage levels and tried them. One was too bright. One was brighter than original but not too bright. The panel mounted intensity adjustment range worked great for it, so I bought a couple spares of those. Made a huge difference in night visibility of the instruments. They've been in there working perfectly for 4 years, now.
