Engine upgrade for a PA17 Vagabond
My Vag is powered by an A65 and I only have the single, fuselage mounted, fuel tank.
If I was lucky to get hold of a C90-8F engine can I fit it without having to install a second wing tank?
Is anyone operating their Vag, fitted with a more powerful engine (than the A65), but still only with the one fuselage tank?
I ask as I believe the original STC for the C90 installation stipulated that a wing tank was necessary.
Something to do with the gravity feed system not adequate when tank is less than half full and Vag in steep climb (due to more power).
