Bad short finally sussed…need a oil cooler bracket! Help

I have been tracking a bad short for way too long…blowing fusses when turning on the master. Finally found a broken oil cooler bracket passenger side. The upper broken part was up touching my alternator post where cable attaches.

anyone have one of those brackets sitting around they can let go of???

Hey Curtis, maybe old one can be reinforced , welded. I had to repair mine on left side.
Im sure there are some mounts out there. Moe

I looked and all of my old junk is either cracked or broken also.. I have welded those up and reinforced the corners in the past. Not hard to do, especially since that bracket seems to be prone to breaking.

Well that’s the plan, to weld it back up. It’s apparent it’s been repaired in the past and not real well, thus I was hoping to start with a new one. I plan to notch a portion out where the alternator post is too as it’s a bit close and if it breaks again I’d like to avoid this short.

Univair has new.

We had a mount that kept breaking in New spots. I think it had work hardened over the years. We got a used replacement from someone and no problem since.
