Re: PA20 restoration/modification
I love this, thanks for sharing! I have almost an identical project, also a 1950 PA-20. I just started going through the parts and everything a week ago and so in the process of taking inventory and making a plan.

No problem. I will try to keep the updates coming. What is your plan forward? Any big modifications?

Re: PA20 restoration/modification
Finished up the doors this weekend, minus a few small details. Made all the window retention parts, and made the lower skins. Ordered the correct hardware this am. I am glad I decided to do a skin on the lower half of the door, I prefer to look better with a nice flowing paint line.

Re: PA20 restoration/modification
The steel construction of the door is done per the STC, the only deviation is a bolt on outer skin in leu of the plastic window. There is no welding done to the aluminum. It was the consensus that the change from plastic to sheet aluminum is a minor alteration. Easy to go back to the window if needed.

Re: PA20 restoration/modification
For the record, I love the full lexan clear doors, both left and right. If you are into looking at things on the ground while you fly, you will dig the clear doors.

Re: PA20 restoration/modification
I managed to get the bulk of the skylight work done this weekend. After the doors, this was a piece of cake!
