PA-17 wheel pants
Found a set of wheel pants on Wagaero that seem to match to original for the Vagabond, however my question is what kind of mounting hardware do I get? I can only find J-3 mounts for pants, would they fit the PA-17?

Re: PA-17 wheel pants
I am fairly sure some kind of welding will be required to add support bracket to u/c legs. Original Vag didn't come with wheel pants, so they would be "after market".
On my Vag I also have a tube which slides into the wheel axle to provide support for the outer surface of the wheel pants.

Re: PA-17 wheel pants
Piper used a clamp type fitting around the lower gear vee to attach the wheel pants to.

Re: PA-17 wheel pants
Not sure if the Clipper mount would work on the PA-15/17. The drawing for that mount is on the drawing CD. Downside of the Clipper mount is that a hole gets drilled into the gear leg allowing moisture to enter and the possibility of corrosion at the bottom of the tube. One of my Clipper gear legs had the lower tube corroded all the way through!
