    Default Need More Tips

In my continued pursuit of the knowledge of cloth and paint I have a few questions
I would like to get much better at this but seems Iím medium okra at best
Sanding , blending and making things look pretty is elusive .
I donít know if I over sand , under sand , expect too much or just need a lot more practice
Im repairing some small spots where the windshield meets the Fuse on top .

I have the repair at the second coat of silver now but here is a few pics of the nitrate
I have a Butyrate Dope Finish

    And with silver

But the spots close up look pretty rough . More Silver ?

The last one is obviously finishing tape . I will have to remove the metal strip and add finishing tape there

But , overall reason for the post is Ö. how do I get better ?

    Hi,

I use a brush to apply coats IN the hole until it gets proud of the old finish. I then wet sand the fill down until it becomes flush with the old finish. If it's horizontal a couple of three coats will usually do it, otherwise it may take ten or so.

I was hoping that was what it needed . It is called Rand-O-Fill so it makes sense I was afraid of too much material and then cracking

My daughter takes the solids out of the bottom of the can and brushes it into those low spots to more quickly build them up and fill them.

Fill, sand, fill, sand until you canít see the difference then apply color. Iíve done a lot of those repairs, not hard, just takes time.
