Correct me if I am wrong. There were no AD’s on Slick mags before Champion bought them and started making quality improvements which were actually coast reductions.

When did Champion take over? Slick has ADs back to 1974 for impulse couplers and coils in the 80’s. I didn’t see any ADs since 1981. Service bulletin may be a different matter altogether.

It is rather sad that they will pay for a new mag but not the labour. Time to remove cowls -re and re the mag and recowl-is 2 hours fair ?. that is a 200 dollar bill around here
Can anyone point me to a Slick L-1037 Overhaul Manual?
It looks like one of the Slick 4201s on my O-200 is dying, and it only has 150hrs since overhaul. I'd like to have an idea of what might be involved before I pull it off and hand it to someone to overhaul.
I'm familiar with Bendixes from the other aircraft, but not Slicks.
The 4200 series are obsolete. You need to find an older than 1988 manual for specific overhaul instructions details.
Having spent some time there, I’m sure it’s significantly different from the current 4301. For example.... Frame castings, rotor, distributor block, bearings, no replacement parts are being made, Kelly, Electrosystems, etc.
Coils, capacitors, points, could still fit unless champion changed their current design.
Yes I am aware that yours are for the O200 but Lycoming has already endorsed and approved them in a Service Bulletin for there engines. No I don’t work their either.
Time to upgrade? Maybe cheaper in the long run.
