Skis?
New to this Pacer thing and looking for a little advice. Just picked up my first airplane a few weeks ago, a PA-22/20, and loving it! Looking down the barrel of winter and thinking about skis and I was wondering what people are using. I live in Girdwood, AK where it really snows (some years), and I'm looking for straight skis with a lot of float, I think? Thank you in advance for any advice you all have.

Check out Aeroski in Mn...I could not find a web site.
"You can only tie the record for flying low."

We have the Aeroski 3000's on our PA22/20. They do have alot of float. If you get in alot of powder, you'll want a tailski too. I never had a tailski, and it made it pretty tough turning the plane when in the deep stuff.

I don't do any ski flying, but I have been really interested in the Trick Air Skis, I have talked to a few people that have them and have heard really good things about them.

Like the look of the Trick Air system, but with 135hp I'm thinking straight skis will be the way to go. Sure would like the Trick Air skis with a 180hp engine for the Girdwood melt/freeze cycle! Thanks for the input everybody, does anybody have an opinion on the Airglas skis?

Think I'm going to pick up a pair of Aero 3000's, anybody have dimensions for the rigging?

Call aero, they are a great bunch and willing to help.

I have aero 2000's , r 2800s are real nice on a pacer I never used the 2000s for anything besides landing on hard pack like a lake 3000s are better than 2000s im sure for deeper snow once I get my pacer flying again Im hoping to get the R2800s

Ski mounting questions...
I have searched but have found no good pictures or discussion... so here goes.
I purchased a used pair of Aero Skis that I am working on getting rigged and ready for 'whenever' the snow comes. So, my question is in regard to the gear to fuselage fairing. What have others done in this area when installing / flying with skis?
Just leave them off? but then this leaves an open area that would at a minimum let even more cold air in, and may allow snow spray to get in there?
Extend the mounting tab and cut an access slot for it to protrude through? concerned a little about the flex motion of the gear?
Comments / Pictures?
Thanks

I have seen them both with the fairings removed and longer tabs protruding through a slot in the fairing. Will look for pictures.
