Whoopsie! I said in my previous Post in this Thread that "Piper sells" the PA-22 Parts reprint. Sorry...that's UNIVAIR that sells the reprint, as their p/n 22PM. Hopefully, everybody read that the same way I meant that...and not the way I said that.

Does anyone have drawings of Piper Kit No. 754237? Univair have the individual parts (about $130 for all 3) but I can't find a drawing of what they look like. If they are simple enough I will make mine, as that $US130 turns into over $AUD200 by the time it gets here! (The original Piper kit sold for $5.00???)

Thanks JW - our posts must have hit the screen at the same time.

AD 57-22-01 for fire hazard periodic inspection
I know this has to have been addressed here before but searching on the AD number gets no results. The questions I have are:
- How do I get to the inspection area? My boot cowl is riveted on. Can I gain acces from underneith?
- The AD is supposed to work in conjunction with SB 161 but I can't find a copy of that either. Where can I get a copy?
- I understand there is a way to eliminate the AD forever. How is that done?
Any help would be appreciated

Here is a link to the AD and Service bulletin in the Donating Members Section. http://www.shortwingpipers.org/forum...ess-Directives
The bottom of the boot cowl should be screwed on. Univair sells the channels that over lap the lip between the boot cowl and the firewall that allows oil and stuff under the floor boards.

Thank You Steve. Any idea why searching on the AD number didn't find this?

Anybody have pictures of how the kit gets installed?

Not sure about the search. Will have to play with that. The kit is a channel which fits over the boot cowl skin and overlaps the firewall lip as well.

Is it the thin material that is between the lip and the firewall? What holds it in?
