    I'm in the process of replacing the brushes on my D-R 1109657 starter. It looks like the field coils have to come out to get to the brushes and the big screws fastening them to the housing look pretty solid ... any tricks to breaking them loose? It looks like it needs a Dzus-type tool to unscrew them ... like a regular flat screwdriver would just ream it out.

    Addendum: I see the removable band that provides access to the brushes … now to find replacements!
