My only knowledge on mixing and matching is in post #30 in this thread.

Keeping on with this subject, has anyone used the 21x8.00-6 tires for their Pacers or Tailwheel Colts? If so, what are your thoughts on them?

Gotta have slicks to be a cool kid these days.

On a serious note I think those tires have a higher ply rating than the Smooth Desser 8.50s. So they are likely heavier. The Dessers are 4ply and quite light for their size.

I have been flying the Desser 8.50s since 2019 but I only mount them for my trips out west (I just returned from Montana two days ago). I really like them, they are light and smooth out many rough strips and since they are smooth they don’t pick up small rocks and throw them at you. I run them at 15 PSI since they have a tube to prevent the tire from rotating on the rim in case I have to hit the brakes.

    Juergen,

How much is the speed penalty with the Desser 8.50s vs 6.00 with wheel pants?

I run my Dessers with 12 psi. I’m not shy with the brakes and have not had an issue with tire to rim slip yet.
