Re: M20 oil seperator
Dang Glen
That was a nice image of the engine and then I noticed the D window and gold stripe. Thinking hey that’s another Shortwing Pipers .
Thanks for the post

But what is the connection from the oil return hose to what appears to be a fitting on a flat area on #4 rocker cover?
Hard to tell from the photo, it gets grainy when I zoom in.
Anyone have a similar or creative installation on a Tri-Pacer with the brake master on engine mount?

The STC for the M20 allowed you to drill and weld a nipple into the rocker for the oil return line from the crankcase vent air/oil seperator.

Re: M20 oil seperator
Are M-20s still available for purchase? None of the phone numbers on the website seem to work. May have to resort to the bottle in the end of the breather trick.

The couple that owned it were pretty old back when these were very popular. Have not seen anything about them in a long time.

Re: M20 oil seperator
Interesting that the website is up and running … but that’s it. Can’t find any copies bouncing around on eBay. Looks like Spruce sells a knock-off but it’s not certified.

Re: M20 oil seperator
I never saw much good from the M20 oil separator. There are better ones out there, but before you go that route, figure out why you are blowing oil out.
