Hello comrades, I was looking for the adjustment turnbuckles on my Colt elevator cables and I couldn't find them on either the plane or in the parts manual illustration. Can anyone tell me where that are located so they can be adjusted? Maybe I need new glasses........
They should be located at the elevator horn. Removing the "L" shaped access covers and the rectangular cover on the lower tail should allow access. If they are not there, someone has installed them in reverse and they will be located beneath the floor panel between the pilot and co-pilot seats.
safety wire? just seeing what i see, gilbert. not being a jerk.
You don't really think I am flying around with those without safety wire do you? Those were taken during the assembly process and prior to the rigging.
Here is a picture of the panel. It has a joggle on the leading edge riveted to cover that slips into a steel plate welded to intercoastal at the front of the bay. That plate is visible in the picture above.
