Koroseal lacing...
Is there anywhere out there to get the "good" koroseal lacing?
I bought some from Spruce, my best friend bought some from Wag-Aero and they are both the same...kinda rectangular looking with sharp corners, doesn't seem to tie as nice the good stuff. The good stuff is more oval looking without corners.
Seems like most use zip ties these days, and I use my fair share, but I'd still like to find some....

This is the stuff, we use a lot of it on the beavers firewall forward. As soon as you introduce engine oil to zipties you get abrasion, I've seen them cut steel. Kinda spendy tho...

I love the stuff, Adds a certain "classic" look to the engine compartment. It's what was used before adel clamps became so prevalent. Used to be able to find oval and square but now I think the only stuff you can get is the square.

That T-1223 stuff is what we stock @ Kenmore and it is oval-ish.

Re: Koroseal lacing...
I’ve been looking for images on how to tie koroseal. Specifically spark plug wires perpendicular to oil lines.
Can’t find any on the web or AC 43.13. Any tips?

Re: Koroseal lacing...
Wrap the koroseal three times around both lines. Take the two loose ends and route them through the middle of both lines and the solid wrap of koroseal. Pull the loose ends tight to cause a knot to form between the two lines and the wrappings of koroseal. Finish loose ends with a square knot.
Find a Boy Scouts manual and look up "frapping" or lashing techniques.
Igniton leads are shielded to reduce RF interference. The shielding is a return to ground. If the insulating material breaks down in the harness, voltage can jump from the conductor to the shielding to ground and arc. Probably best to isolate ignition lead from other fluid lines.

excellent stuff. I used tons of it when work was buying it, but its probably the most effective and way quicker than adel clamps. also used it for cord wrapping some control wheels.

Re: Koroseal lacing...
Just another demonstration of how great this website is.
Learned about koroseal here, had a customer with a 1940 Funk wanting the engine compartment to look a little more authentic. And I gotta say, after a bit of practice, it gives a very clean look to an install.20200507_103722.jpeg
