Re: Tri-pacer Rudder/Aileron Interconnect
I am new to PA-22. My 56 has interconnect in place, however, springs are stretched permanently to about 4-1/4 ". (Univair 487-291 shows to be 2-1/2" +/- new) the interconnect cable was straight at the spring location.minimal movement of the yoke, the rudder, turns immediately, (nose steering links disconnected) With new springs attached, length is @ 5" with a loop +/- 1" slack, turnbuckle connected with one thread on t-buckle. Section Three, under General Maintenance para B(6) says to tighten cable until springs just starts to extend. So my question for those who have cables still attached, how much of a loop (slack) on interconnect cable do you have at the spring location.
Appreciate any and all. Bob

Re: Tri-pacer Rudder/Aileron Interconnect
If anyone is considering removing the aileron-rudder interconnect on their Tri Pacer, finding the Colt steering arm (which is wider than the stock steering arm and has the holes for the return springs), This one is on eBay for $45. I had to pay $270 about a year and a half ago when I found one. They're as scarce as hens teeth.

Thanks Dennis ... just bought it. I've been toying with doing this mod for a few years, so this must be the Universe talking me into it.

You'll find it will fly like a real airplane. Meaning you'll get back to using your feet again.

Re: Tri-pacer Rudder/Aileron Interconnect
I loosened the interconnect cables while re-rigging per the Piper service letter and I have a sneaky suspicion I didn't bring them back to the original tension ;-). However, it would be nice to have the springs centering the nosewheel/rudder as there doesn't seem to be much feedback to the pedals from the rudder in these milk stools.

Re: Tri-pacer Rudder/Aileron Interconnect
Anyone know of a source for the 14929 and 14930 clamps besides Univair? $55 for one clamp ... ouch!

Wow, my Google searches only resulted in links to Univair. You must have the touch!
