Re: Trimmer stc for PA18 gear modifications
Any idea what the weight difference is with this Trimmer mod?
While I was doing welding on my fuselage this winter, I increased the size of the bottom access hole, making it less of a,"hell hole".
I just finised repainting my fuselage after patching/replacing about 25% of the fabric. I will look more respectable hanging out around Gilbert next time! Back to wiring.

Re: Trimmer stc for PA18 gear modifications
There is more steel in the gear legs. I haven't tossed the left gear yet. Will weigh the original narrow gear and the supercub gear including the oleo strut for one side... Be nice if Ryan Air storage would deliver the freight! Adding seaplane left door...steel, right door steel...then the heavy polycarbonate for the doors and skylight. Trading the nicer heavy interior panels for Kydex...and fabric. But...ordered leather for the front seats. Adding more metal to the wings and crosswind STOL wing tips....Empty prior to rebuild was 1024 pounds. When I get to the panel and wiring need to loose weight there, something like 84 pounds of wire instruments and general stuff. Hope to be close to a grand...wish I could use the glass panels for experimental!
