Univair STC SA45RM
Considering buying a 1957 Piper Pacer with a 0-320 that had the Univair conversion done back in 1986, my question is what are the approved type of brake calipers per that STC?? It currently has installed McCauley 2 pistion calipers and not sure if that is approved in place of the Cleveland 1 piston caliper, any help would be greatly appreciated, as I cannot find an availalbe copy of the installation instruction on the web....

Re: Univair STC SA45RM
I believe there is a set of McCauley brakes that are approved.

Re: Univair STC SA45RM
If the Pacer was actually a PA-20 instead of a converted PA-22, can that list be applicable to it or is there another list specifically for the PA-20 that lists approved brakes for the PA-20 with wide gear univair STC SA12RM?

Re: Univair STC SA45RM
That is from the STC for tailwheel conversion.

Re: Univair STC SA45RM
Can a similar listing be found anywhere for the PA-20?

Re: Univair STC SA45RM
Univair has an STC for Cleveland wheels and brakes as does Eddie Trimmer. I would call Univair to get the part numbers.

Re: Univair STC SA45RM
Thanks for the quick reply. I have all the commercial vendor listings of eligible brakes. What I am not finding is any approval for the Cleveland single puck 30-75A brake and 40-113 wheel.

The only single pick STC I am aware of is the one Johnny Williams owned.

I also have one that uses Cleveland 199-46 conversion kit...
