Aircraft refinishing, 101
OK. I told everyone that I'm a blank slate when it comes to aircraft restoration so here's a question regarding painting:
What should I buy in the way of painting equipment? I know that I'm going to need an air compressor and a paint gun, etc. What do I need in the way of an air compresser and paint gun? I'm looking for specific stats.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Man, I'm doing everything, depending on the aircraft. I've got two. One of them is essentially flyable, waiting on a buddy to finish up on a complete wing rebuild, but I'm completely rebuilding the other one.

I figured I'd probably do Stits Polyfiber but I'm not married to that. I've heard a lot of good things about Stewarts.

If you want to investigate Stewarts go to their website. They have all the documents available for download. If it looks good to you spend the money on their CDs, very educational! I'm spraying EkoFill right now, started last fall with the fabric. Feel free to PM me with questions, ditto for my phone. Umber if you want to chat about it.

I am EXTREMELY pleased with it. I've sprayed Epoxy primer, all the different coatings( Poly Fiber and Ceconite) and polyurethane with it. All came out NICE...
I went with Poly Fiber because one of their factory reps is a good friend of mine and was an invaluable resource. I'm also familiar with it( couple of gliders redone)- not so much with Stewarts and was leery of trying something new- especially when I'm paying for it LOL
