Default Oil Screen Housing Replacement troubles

I am working on a PA22 converted to PA 20 configuration. It has also been converted from o-290 to O-320A2B. Our oil screen housing is cracked and needs replacement. We have the dual gauge oil temp and pressure indicator. The bulb for the temp goes into the back of the oil screen housing. The sealing surface is a tapered seal at the base on the threads inside the housing that fits against the end of the temp bulb. Then nut on the bulb line is a "B" nut that provides the sealing force. All of the housings I can find do not have this sealing surface, and the diameter of the bulb is big enough that the adapter fitting often used on other applications will not work. I cannot be the first to have this problem. Please help me if you know of the best fix. Replacement of the original gauge could be done, but this would also require replacement of the pressure gauge and is not very desirable to us. Thank you in advance for your responses.

I'm no expert but it looks to me like you might be missing an "insert" (threading into the housing) that would make it all compress together. Have you looked in the parts book?

I believe Aircraft Spruce sells this B&C adapter used to attach the Piper Oil Temp Bulb to the B & C oil filter housing. Basically a 1/4 NPT adapter with the mating seal of the probe bulb.

Does anyone have an oil screen housing like this one? It is #62815 in the O290 parts manual. Mine has a crack across one of the bolt flanges.

    Thanks,
    Todd
