That's a positive, I think...

The STC is pretty specific about mounting. If I was inclined to do this or someone asked me to do it, the first person I would ask is the STC the holder.

Re: ADSB-Out . . Creeping toward 2020
And the legality of a new mount in the rudder on a certified Pacer?

Re: ADSB-Out . . Creeping toward 2020
If it would be possible now would be as easy a time to do that as any time in the future... but would that be considered a “major alteration”?IMG_1563364611.746752.jpg

What do you want to do? Make a new light bezel that is big enough for the tail beacon ADS-B?

Re: ADSB-Out . . Creeping toward 2020
Garmin GDL82 install would be easier than making a new mount and recovering and painting the rudder.

Something like that, or a 3d printed adaptor.

Re: ADSB-Out . . Creeping toward 2020
I think the whole point in the uAvionix products are simplicity in installation. Doing a complete rebuild of an airplane I believe it would be easier and cheaper to use the GDL82 or similar device rather than trying to fabricate something to make this work. I do a lot of fabrication and it always seems to take more time and effort than I initially anticipated.

Usually I do a X3 on what I figured.

Quick update to the thread.....
Spoke to Uavionix @ Airventure. They plan on shipping skylight in the next two months. I’m looking forward to having matching LED position and strobe lights. Also, trying to remember who started the thread about PMA 36 landing and taxi lights, but I bought a pair of them from Aerolites. Looking forward to getting them installed. Thank you for the info. They were only $85 a piece at the show.
