Yes! It is called a Pacer.
Just kidding.
I have never heard of a Super Clipper but, I'll bet there are some fairly "suped" 😀 up Clippers. Then there some beautiful ones like Gilbert's.

I saw this on Barnstormer's, highly modified and highly priced, but I suppose you can't build one like it yourself for less, http://www.eliteairservice.com/listi...nnumber=N676SC
Those chrome sticks look great

Re: Was there every a Super Clipper?
I'd like to see a bone stock Clipper with the Trimmer 180HP upgrade STC with climb prop.
It would look like Grandpas airplane; Brown interior, stock Cream color boring paint scheme but blows the doors off the Supercubs at Johnson Creek. That would be a show ID like to personally see!

Robert Bach (writer, photographer, son of Richard Bach, aviation book writer)had a Super Clipper at Brodhead, WI last year. I think it was at Blakesburg, too, but I wasn't there.

It's got a Pacer cowl.
Experimental. built by Joe Strouse from KY I believe. Saw it years ago at Sun n Fun.
Note the extended wings and jury struts.

I'm not sure that that engine info listed on faa.gov ever changes unless there is a new airworthiness certificate issued. Just looked up another Clipper that has had an O-320 in it for a decade via field approval, faa website still shows O-235 and A/W dated 1956

I've been trying to decide what engine to use, thought about the Trimmer O-360 STC, but I understand I would have to modify my cowling to fit the 360 in it, not sure just read that somewhere, and would like to keep the cowling original. I also believe an O-320 saves 10 or 20 pounds, so my other idea is an O-320 using the Cedric Abbott STC, low compression engine with Lycon ported / polished cylinders to increase to 170 or so hp, and a prop that takes a big enough bite of air so it wont over rev the engine at full throttle.
